"This community is stronger together, always remember you can do hard things!"

Kelly DiMaggio is 35 years old living with the severe congenital heart defect Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) and still has her original heart. She was born in 1988 and there were no in utero diagnoses at the time- her parents were told shortly after her birth that she would die within a few hours. Kelly was a fighter and managed to hold on through all 3 of her surgeries which were done at Children’s of Milwaukee. She is now living life to the fullest and thriving with half of a heart.

Kelly is  a Certified Financial Planner and lives outside of Annapolis, MD with her husband of 10 years, Mike. They love the beach and traveling. She has thrown herself into exercising and healthy eating to keep her heart as strong as possible to avoid transplant for as long as possible! This is why she is so passionate about Heart Works – she envisions  her future where transplant is not the default, and only viable, option! This community is stronger together, always remember you can do hard things! Let’s continue changing the future of CHD!

Kelly has above and beyond this year for HeartWorks. She attending The 8th World Congress of Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery Conference as an ambassador and has raised nearly $20,000 for our mission to cure CHD.
