The Bergners Rally Together to Raise Funds and Awareness for CHD

Jon and Brianna Bergner came to a lab tour in September of last year and have been partners in the fight against congenital heart disease (CHD) ever since. Their heartfelt dedication is inspiring countless others to join the cause. Last month, they hosted the Ransomed Hearts gala in the D.C. area, a beautiful and impactful evening that raised over $75,000 to benefit the HeartWorks mission. This incredible achievement is a testament to their passion, vision, and commitment to making a real difference for children affected by CHD.

The Ransomed Hearts event, named in part after their son Ransom, who was born with Hypoplastic Right Heart Syndrome (HRHS), was filled with hope, generosity, and community. Guests enjoyed an elegant evening with fine dining, an ArtWorks For HeartWorks silent auction, and exciting vacation raffles, all in support of a cause that’s incredibly close to Jon and Brianna’s hearts. It was an unforgettable night that brought people together to fight for a cure and to raise awareness about CHD.

Jon and Brianna’s dedication doesn’t stop at the gala. They are actively working to spread awareness about CHD, and it’s clear that their entire family is behind them every step of the way. Recently, Jon and Brianna’s parents, Susan and Jeffrey Bergner, invited Tim to speak at their adult living home, sharing his personal story and helping others understand the importance of supporting CHD research. It’s this kind of generosity and community spirit that is at the core of the Bergner family’s mission.

Their son Ransom, who celebrated his first birthday last month, is the heart of their journey. As parents to Ransom and his two sisters, along with a young son, Jon and Brianna balance the challenges of raising a family with the fierce determination to make a difference for heart warriors everywhere. Jon, who founded Exigent Government Relations, and Brianna, who works at Equinix, bring their professional expertise and passion to the cause, using their skills to drive change and build a better future for children with CHD.
The success of the Ransomed Hearts gala is just one example of Jon and Brianna’s incredible leadership, but it’s their kindness, warmth, and love for their son—and for every child affected by CHD—that truly sets them apart. Their journey is one of hope, resilience, and love, and we are so grateful for their unwavering commitment to this important cause.

Thank you, Jon and Brianna, for all that you do. Your dedication is making an incredible impact, and together, we will continue to work toward a future where CHD no longer holds children captive. Your hearts are truly changing lives.
