Meet Cole | Driving The Co-op at HeartWorks to Support CHD Families

This month, we’re thrilled to introduce Cole, our Senior Product Manager for the Co-op patient database, who joined HeartWorks in January 2025! Growing up in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, Cole was immersed in a hockey family alongside his two brothers, Miles and Brooks. Their athletic pursuits expanded to lacrosse in high school, and all three brothers even played together on the club team at St. John’s University, making it to the national championship his junior year! While they lost by a single goal, it was “such a fun experience,” a testament to his passion and teamwork.

Now living in vibrant Minneapolis, Cole’s free time in the summer is packed with golf with his dad and brothers, catching Twins games, diving into a good book, practicing his guitar skills, and enjoying walks along the Mississippi River. When winter arrives, you’ll find him hitting the slopes on exhilarating skiing trips to Colorado with friends.

In his pivotal role at HeartWorks, Cole’s typical day involves reaching out to various CHD advocacy groups and health systems to establish formal partnerships. He’s passionate about explaining the short-term and long-term benefits of the Co-op to the broader CHD community, ensuring everyone understands its potential impact. When he’s not connecting with partners, he’s busy envisioning new features and enhancements that will add tangible value to the daily lives of Co-op users.

Cole finds his greatest inspiration in the personal connections he makes. Meeting CHD families and hearing their stories brings a fresh perspective to his role and fuels his motivation. He emphasizes that the CHD community is “filled with so many amazing people,” and he feels privileged to collaborate with them to advance improved care for CHD patients. These interactions are not just part of his job; they are the moments that deeply resonate with him and provide a profound sense of purpose.

Cole is deeply passionate about his contributions to the CHD community and fostering meaningful relationships with those HeartWorks serves. He’s reminded daily of the immense opportunity to deliver impactful work for a community he believes deserves immense praise for its resilience and unwavering commitment.

Looking ahead, Cole is most excited about seeing HeartWorks’ presence grow in the CHD space and forming lasting, impactful relationships with CHD families, advocacy groups, and clinical researchers. He’s eagerly anticipating the growth of the Co-op, which in turn will provide more opportunities and hope for CHD families. While there’s still much work to be done, Cole feels the prospect of achieving HeartWorks’ goals becomes “more and more promising by the day” with every new connection made. His optimism and forward-thinking vision are truly inspiring for the future of HeartWorks and the CHD community.
